The Vintage Racing League is the leading online community for people who love racing and cars. Its free to join.
Members connect with people that share a love of specific marques or types of cars (e.g. Vintage, Historic, Classic, Antique,Formula Ford, Can-Am, Trans-Am, GT and/or Historic Formula One cars).
The VRL helps members find difficult to locate parts, restoration resources, race events and car clubs in your area.
You can exchange pictures and race videos and find "same car soulmates".
I look forward to seeing some of your vintage race video's.
FYI - I'm the co-founder of The Vintage Racing League.
I owned and raced a 1975 Crossle Formula Ford. I currently own and race a 1980 March Formula Atlantic and intend to rebuild and race a 1977 Shadow DN8 F1 car.
I race with CVAR in the Southwest.
I live in Dallas.
VRL Factoids:
An estimated 4 million people in the USA own Vintage, Historic, Classic and Antique cars (10 million world-wide).
The USA is home to 79 million Baby Boomers. Every day, 50,000 retire.
There are 27 Vintage Race Clubs in the US that stage an estimated 170 events per year.
Today, approximately 30,000 members in the 27 Clubs race Vintage cars.
We want to get more people into Vintage racing and a primary purpose of this site is dedicated to that goal.
Even if people do not race, they are welcome to attend events and learn more about the compelling nature of motorsports and it's history..
About: WWW.THEVRL.COM
We created a place where owners and lovers of vintage, historic, classic and antique cars could find each other, exchange pictures, videos and information about how to fix, restore, and race cars.
Ask your friends to join the Vintage Racing League @ www.thevrl.com.
Feel free to create new groups, post pictures for us all to share and share the site with your friends.
Welcome to the Vintage Racing League.
Warmest regards - Stephen Page
Chairman & CEO
What car(s) do you own?
1977 Shadow F1 DN8 (in restoration), 1980 March Formula Atlantic, my first car - a 1954 Jensen Interceptor, 1981 Kougar Sports Car, MB ML 500, MB 500S. Previously owned and raced a 1975 Crossle Formula Ford.
What do you like to do (e.g. vintage race with...)?
Race with CVAR in the Southwest.
Attend as many Vintage, Historic and Concours events as possible each year, to include the Monterey Historics, the Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance and the Goodwood Revival.
What would you like to do (e.g. go to race school; get into Vintage Racing)?
Improve my Vintage and Historic racing skills. Share the unique history, passion and excitement of vintage/historic racing via the VRL and expose as many people as possible to the sport.
Not officially involved with SVRA. I have a couple of friends who race and I offer moral support. I do not have a vintage machine, rather a 2008 MINI. However, the driver is vintage. You might say I am an enthusiast.
Thank you very much Stephen. I don't feel all that inspiring, I am just a man doing what I have to do to live. I have a loving and supportive wife, who quite literally saved my life. (That is a long and wholly other story.) I also so have friends that have been with me through thick and thin.
I was lucky enough to be acquainted with the late Phil Hill who lived here in Santa Monica. On my birthday this past December my wife, Sandy, was taking me to one of our favorite restaurants here in town, Il Forniao. As we passed the Phil Hill room, where Phil had many of his trophies and photos on display, I said; "Someday I want to have a party in that room." She said; "Why not tonight?" I looked in and there were my closest friends, the ones who came to see me in the hospital, the ones who helped me survive and the ones that help me race. Not a big group, maybe a dozen, but it was the best birthday present I could have imagined.
Surviving cancer is a lot like racing; you do what you have to do to make it to the next race.
I am looking forward to enjoying your website. You are providing a wonderful service to our community.
Thanks Stephen,
Very interesting little (large) community you have growing here. I hope I'll have time to post some stuff soon.
The photo is me and my Mum at Brands Hatch circa 1970-71. I'm wearing my father's crash helmet, he was racing a BMW 2002 in some club race I believe. Glad you liked it - Think she caused quite a stir in that dress!
Where was the photo of the Hispano-Suiza Tulip-wood Torpedo taken(it's photo #2 on your display of 97 pix on the home page
)? For the past 8 yrs, at least, it's been on display on a raised platform at the Blackhawk Auto Museum!
I agree Stephen it doesn't get much better. The DB4Gt is worth c£1.7m and mine on the right c£130,000. Peter Thorntons car is one of the most successfully raced DB4GT's around Europe.
Got my first copy of the Vintage magazine yesterday and am most impressed also the rate of members joining is certainly escalating and you are I am sue the top Vintage Racing site in the world by now. Very well done.
Delighted to talk on the telephone any time, next week Monday not good however and tues 12.30 at the dentist but otherwise any time on my mobile 011 (353) 87 2415870.
Thanks Stephan & sorry for the delayed thank you, but great site. I'm not a road racer (yet), but maybe one of these days. Would love to build a Trans Am vintage Mopar or rekindle my love driving the XK 120. Cheers, Buzz
That would be great Stephen and look foward to talking to you.

dfwcarfinder.com is a Dallas used car dealership that I own. We have a few cars on the lot, but we mostly find specific cars for people around the DFW area, be it Honda's, BMWs, Porsche's, or whatever. It's a unique cars-to-order paradigm, with a much more personal touch.
dear stephen: thank you very much for the warm welcome, and for encouraging me to post my paintings! i am excited to be here, and have been going through my reference materials for subject matter that would make for a (hopefully) adequate sample. (the commercial work i'd done in the past mostly falls under non-disclosure.)
i've been "just painting" since 2000, and john e. has been telling me since 1997 that i really ought to think hard about spending more time painting cars. ;-) i've gone at this from various angles off and on, including a somewhat idiosyncratic phase of painting body panels that had been consigned to junkyards. what interested me was that the vehicles retained their dignity despite the indignities bestowed upon them, even being broken into rusting, dented parts.
my most recent commissions in progress, and vintage automotive interests, have been beautiful and elegant vehicles, but not racecars. my appreciation of them is based on a lay artist's appreciation of aesthetics. after twelve years with my Tom the "car guy," i still have quite a learning curve.
i'd like to start here with a dandy vintage race car. we already have plans made for british car day in both lilypons and lewes. the latter is one of my favorite places. can't wait! and thanks again to john e. for inviting me, and to you for the welcome aboard. b
Thanks, Stephen.
This sort of communication is all a bit new to me, both due to my own vintage and pokey adoption rate...but a great context to grow into. I've been a hanger-on to the Bay Area vintage scene since the '70's and have a litany of shoulda, woulda couldas. Alfa bias, but have strayed. Many thanks for your work and welcome.
Dan
Hallo Stephen,
Many thanks for your friendly welcome :-)As far as I can see the
classic racing-scene is very active in the States, for sure much, much
bigger than here in Switzerland.
I'll glady "sniff around" the forums.
Best regards
Rainer
Hi Stephen,
I will pass on the invite to other BWRDC members this weekend at our AGM and hopefully we will get quite a few to join.
As I said I am still working out how the site works but from your comments I gather there might be a Jaguar section (or could be). I will investigate this further this evening.

Gail
Steven,
Curious and neat site at the same time. But, What constitutes a "Vintage" Car. Mine are all considered Muscle Cars from the 60's. I always thought of Vintage as 1910 - 1930s. My websites are www.wichitamopar.com (WAM club) and www.mopars.advcom.net (personal) but always hang out on www.motortopia.com user Charger.
Later!
Ron
That's good to know. I was afraid the Term Vintage it referred to the driver and I wanted to continue living my youth through my cars. 68 Dodge Charger, 69 Dodge Charger RT, and now a 2008 Dodge Charger Daytona.
I'll have to look over the site when I have more time.
Ron
Stephen, thanks for the warm welcome. have started, but neglected lately, a website documenting my Dad's cars (www.janeprophet.com/davidprophet) and I will post some photos from there to your site. best, Jane
These are members of HRCA Historic Racing Car Assoc in Ireland, so hopefully many more will join when they see the site. Great to talk yesterday and i will be in contact in some detail this weekend.
G'day Stephen
Thanks for the welcome :) I thought this site needed a bit of Aussie Muscle and I can assure you that the Muscle Car movement in Australia is very strong. Google "australian muscle car masters at eastern creek" and you can see the wide variety of racing machines we have here in OZ. This is a top site and has something for everyone. Well done. Regards ..... Barry
Hey Steven , If you want you can add our car club to the list of MOPAR CLUBS. I didnt seee a way to add it but we are Central Carolina Mopar Club, centralcarolinamoparclub.com
out of Columbia SC.
Thank you for the invite, good site.
I have added my show on events, hope some of you could help me out and come along to the show.
Thanks

I will be pleased to promote your creation around Japan.
There will be many people at this months Tokyo concours d`Elegance I helped Paul Goldsmith with. Please see this website.
http://www.concours.jp/index.html
In Japan they do not keep registers as they do in the west and this is one way to bring the Japanese owners of all vintage cars to the surface whereupon we can network with them.
From the bubble economy period there are literally thousands of classic MG and other cars in garages all over Japan. As their owners fade away their hiers really do not share the same feelings towards the cars and will often want to dispose of them.
I shall tell Paul and my Japanese vintage car guru, Kenn Sakurai about you.
Thanks for the greeting-I will download a photo as soon as I find a couple of minutes. Your concept is interesting and I look forward to spending some time looking around.
Thanks for the invite and kind words. Great site. It will take me ahile to check this all out. Thanks for your interest in our Mini Cooper club (Redwood Empire Mini Enthusiasts)
