I think I mentioned this fellows shop the other day and then on this mornings BAT teaser here was this posting....it's meant to be...grab this car...have Jaan hold it for you until Concorso in August...fly out and drive it back...a week in Carmel and Monterrey...Laguna Seca...how could you go wrong!!
Just posted a few images today in an album on my Facebook page...thought you might enjoy... http://www.facebook.com/#!/album.php?aid=228462&id=777004851
Whereabouts are you from in England? I have a sister who married a Brit and has lived there for probably 25 years or more and relatives in Poole (?) and my dad used to travel over every year to video part of the ballroom dance competition in Blackpool.
I hope to have my '66 Flaminia GT back on the road this summer...of course I've been saying that for several years now...one of those mechanics who manages to dimantle everything but just can't make the time to reassemble everything...especially since he was paid in full for the job nearly three years ago. I also own an '81 Beta Coupe 2000 currently sitting with a bad clutch (shattered throw-out bearing) and I've been accumulating all the parts to completely rebuild the suspension once we tear it down. Almost bought a 1.3 Fulvia many years ago...they're great cars to drive hard. Way back in '70 or '71 I went to the Daytona 24 Hours specifically to watch Mike Tillson from Pennsylvania race his 1.6 HF.
If I'm mobile this summer would certainly enjoy some weekends at a track...any track! I live in Columbus Ohio which is just 50 minutes from Mid-Ohio...actually I own an embroidery business and one of the jobs in-house right now are shirts and hats for the Mid-Ohio Drivers School...
Never been to Road Atlanta or VIR, two tracks I would greatly enjoy visiting. Grew-up in New York, about an hour north of New York City so Lime Rock pretty much became my "home" track and I have so many wonderful memories.
Visit this site - www.eddinsmoto.com - Jaan Hjort, the owner, is a great guy and often has Lancias for sale. I bought my Flaminia from him and he is pretty much regarded as a Lancia expert on the west coast.
My cell is 614-360-8204 so if ever planning a cruise north just give a yell or email me at pmiller@embroiderywearhouse.net.
