Hello Rae: Actually, you inspired me...sort of. I have been vintage racing a Sprite for years and wanted something just a bit different. My first car (way, way back in 1967!) was an Austin A40, so I guess I have a soft spot for these old Brit saloons (also, I was born in the UK). I had been considering a Morris Minor because of the interchangable spares I already had (from the race Sprite). But then I saw your A35 racing in a video at Goodwood and was smittetn by the appeal of your car. I looked for one for a while (they're like hen's teeth here) and finally found a suitable one in Ontario, Canada. I made a 24 hour, non-stop trip in a snow storm from my home in New Jersey to get it. I am hoping to have it fully race prepped for the 2010 season. I just painted it and am doing the suspension and roll cage right now. I'll use a moderate 1275 engine for this year just to get things sorted out. I believe it will be the only A35 historic racer in the USA. Lots of my racing friends are bugging me to get it done as soon as possible. Great to hear from you!
Hi, do you race A35 in the USA? Here at Rae Davis Racing, we would like very much to be more involved in racing in the USA. We have raced and prepare Austin A35's, Mini's and many other cars over the years. We race regular at the Goodwood Revival meeting here in the UK.
