About Me:
The Vintage Racing League is the leading online community for people who love racing and cars. Its free to join.
Members connect with people that share a love of specific marques or types of cars (e.g. Vintage, Historic, Classic, Antique,Formula Ford, Can-Am, Trans-Am, GT and/or Historic Formula One cars).
The VRL helps members find difficult to locate parts, restoration resources, race events and car clubs in your area.
You can exchange pictures and race videos and find "same car soulmates".
I look forward to seeing some of your vintage race video's.
FYI - I'm the co-founder of The Vintage Racing League.
I owned and raced a 1975 Crossle Formula Ford. I currently own and race a 1980 March Formula Atlantic and intend to rebuild and race a 1977 Shadow DN8 F1 car.
I race with CVAR in the Southwest.
I live in Dallas.
VRL Factoids:
An estimated 4 million people in the USA own Vintage, Historic, Classic and Antique cars (10 million world-wide).
The USA is home to 79 million Baby Boomers. Every day, 50,000 retire.
There are 27 Vintage Race Clubs in the US that stage an estimated 170 events per year.
Today, approximately 30,000 members in the 27 Clubs race Vintage cars.
We want to get more people into Vintage racing and a primary purpose of this site is dedicated to that goal.
Even if people do not race, they are welcome to attend events and learn more about the compelling nature of motorsports and it's history..

About: WWW.THEVRL.COM
We created a place where owners and lovers of vintage, historic, classic and antique cars could find each other, exchange pictures, videos and information about how to fix, restore, and race cars.
Ask your friends to join the Vintage Racing League @ www.thevrl.com.

Happy to help you at any time. The old joke is if you want to make a small fortune collecting cars, start with a large one. The Petersen was, fortunatley, very well endowed by Mr. Petersen and collectors like Bruce Meyer.

Hi Stephen, this looks like a great site! My car is apart, paint is stripped, fuel cells are out. I am replacing part of the cockpit floor and then the car can be primed and start to go back together. I have rebuilt the steering rack, all four corners, M/cyls and calipers are all rebuilt with new bores and stainless pistons, New windshield, new Red leather Lotus steering wheel, tach and other instruments refurbished, oil cooler and radiator cleaned.
The engine is a Ford 4 cam with dyno time only. I still need a gearbox and tires. This car has 16" wheels, pretty unusual at Indy in 67-68. Love to talk with anybody who has a similar project or running car.

Thanks for the welcome Steve.I will try and post more pictures from my "stable". My son Mark does most of the driving chores when he is home- works as a crew chief on a FBMW team in the Pacific Series and possibily the European Series out of Switzerland. Started training one of our crew as a subsitiute driver. I have owned the Cortina for 40 years and have been racing her since 1971. I just pay the bills and do the work.
We race at Atlantic Motorsport Park in Nova SCOTIA but not in a Vintage Series . We race in a regional club series as there are not enough cars to have 2 separate series.

Thanks for the welcome, you have a very nice vintage site,. The car I pictured is my 1980 LOLA T530 can-am car .Ex Danny Sullivan, he raced it at the end of 1980 into 1981,he won the 1981 Las-Vegas can-am with it. 100% perfect, better than new and much faster too! Faster than I care to go, I probably will get a smaller vintage car.
  • Dan Boyd

thanks for the friends invite. It's a bit chilly here in SoCal.

Thanks for the welcome, Stephen! I've been a sports car racing spectator since my early childhood with fond memories of riding to Lime Rock and Thompson and the Glen with my older brother and dad...first driving in a Hudson Hornet then a Borgward, Volvo 544, Alfa 1300 Veloce GT, Lancia Aurelia B20GT and so many others. Racers like Masten Gregory, George Constantine, Al Cosentino all impacted my grey matter in a way that caused a life-long love for the sport and ingenuity that so many must muster to maintain the cars on track today that kicked up the dust back in the 50's and 60's. I remember camping at the Glen for '61 US GP and even watching Bob Sharp give Paul Newman his first real driving lesson at Lime Rock on a Tuesday...this site will certainly occupy plenty of my time and keep me motivated to possibly some day become an on-track participant rather than just a hillside spectator. My restoration of a '66 Lancia Flaminia GT is progressing and at least I hope to soon be driving to the in-fields in car with great motoring lineage!

    Regards,
    Phil

Thanks! Great site you have here, glad to be onboard. I'm getting ready to take my Ghia on a cross country road trip, Florida to New Hampshire! wish me luck, she's not in perfect shape now but should make the trip just fine, taking it easy and driving mostly at night when the roads are cooler.
  • Richard Johnson

Thank you Stephen, I do not own the type of car to really be a member of this site, but I do enjoy sports car racing since high school. Never have got into nascar. I signed up mostly because I am a model builder and was looking for referance matter. I build mostly hotrods and drag cars but have been branching out some into sports cars so the need for referance.

I am still in the middle of my high court action and that is taking up a great deal of time. I will let you know If I am over, do you have a UK cellphone number? The site is looking great. Kind regards

This VRL community is the best!
Where else in the world can you find one place where you can get the latest news about your passion, find like minded car nuts and buy and sell car stuff.
