The Vintage Racing League is the leading online community for people who love racing and cars. Its free to join.
Members connect with people that share a love of specific marques or types of cars (e.g. Vintage, Historic, Classic, Antique,Formula Ford, Can-Am, Trans-Am, GT and/or Historic Formula One cars).
The VRL helps members find difficult to locate parts, restoration resources, race events and car clubs in your area.
You can exchange pictures and race videos and find "same car soulmates".
I look forward to seeing some of your vintage race video's.
FYI - I'm the co-founder of The Vintage Racing League.
I owned and raced a 1975 Crossle Formula Ford. I currently own and race a 1980 March Formula Atlantic and intend to rebuild and race a 1977 Shadow DN8 F1 car.
I race with CVAR in the Southwest.
I live in Dallas.
VRL Factoids:
An estimated 4 million people in the USA own Vintage, Historic, Classic and Antique cars (10 million world-wide).
The USA is home to 79 million Baby Boomers. Every day, 50,000 retire.
There are 27 Vintage Race Clubs in the US that stage an estimated 170 events per year.
Today, approximately 30,000 members in the 27 Clubs race Vintage cars.
We want to get more people into Vintage racing and a primary purpose of this site is dedicated to that goal.
Even if people do not race, they are welcome to attend events and learn more about the compelling nature of motorsports and it's history..
About: WWW.THEVRL.COM
We created a place where owners and lovers of vintage, historic, classic and antique cars could find each other, exchange pictures, videos and information about how to fix, restore, and race cars.
Ask your friends to join the Vintage Racing League @ www.thevrl.com.
Feel free to create new groups, post pictures for us all to share and share the site with your friends.
Welcome to the Vintage Racing League.
Warmest regards - Stephen Page
Chairman & CEO
What car(s) do you own?
1977 Shadow F1 DN8 (in restoration), 1980 March Formula Atlantic, my first car - a 1954 Jensen Interceptor, 1981 Kougar Sports Car, MB ML 500, MB 500S. Previously owned and raced a 1975 Crossle Formula Ford.
What do you like to do (e.g. vintage race with...)?
Race with CVAR in the Southwest.
Attend as many Vintage, Historic and Concours events as possible each year, to include the Monterey Historics, the Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance and the Goodwood Revival.
What would you like to do (e.g. go to race school; get into Vintage Racing)?
Improve my Vintage and Historic racing skills. Share the unique history, passion and excitement of vintage/historic racing via the VRL and expose as many people as possible to the sport.
Stephen, thanks for finding my site www.grabercars.com and suggesting that I join VRL. I am a huge vintage race car fan so it was not a hard thing to understand the allure of your site! I like to think that my own car, an original body design, tube frame, mid engined, sports race car is a nod to the great classics of the mid 60's and early 70's but with a modern twist to the shape.
Thanks for the welcome Stephen. Thanks for the kudos on my Mini. Built it myself and truly look forward to the day that my grandkids, and my son can dust it off and enter it in Vintage Racing. ;)
Maybe they will be able to afford it, cause I can't! Haa
I will post an old photo of me in my 57 MGA. I've just made reservations for the Watkins Glenn Vintage Car race in June.
My first visit to that race course was when Sterling Moss was racing back in the 60's.
Hope to see you there...
Fred
Stephen, I found the photos I just posted while going through a pile of family pictures. They were taken by my father back in the day. I also have somewhere pics I took of that race at Hallett with Paul Newman. I will keep digging.
Thanks for the idea I'll give it some thought. In addition to running The Open Road and hiring out my fleet of classics I run an online business Classic Car Hire World see www.classiccarhireworld.com which is a directory of classic and sports car hire companies around the world.
Your site has started me thinking that maybe there is another category I could add to the website - cars prepared for rallying and/or racing. I know of a few companies in the UK that rent out cars fully prepared for historic rallies although I don't know of anyone doing the same for historic races.
Sounds like it could be worth doing some research.
I would be indeed honored to post pictures and write for The Vintage Racing Leage and will be more than happy to help in any way possible. I am on the way to Daytona for the Rolex 24 and will pass the word to all I see there.
Have a great weekend!

Thank you for your kind words. I just discovered this site yesterday and it is great!
I will be posting some Can-Am work soon. You mentioned Shadows. I've got quite a few Shadow images, including the '70 car with the 10" wheels and radiator in wing with George driving at St. Jovite.
You also asked if I'd be interested in covering some vintage races for the site. I'd say yes, lets talk about it when the season gets near.
I'd love to talk with you. give me a call sometime. My # is on my page.
Hi, Stephen
I did an article with pictures for last year's Mitty which was published in Total 911 in the August 2008 issue (comes from England, so you might not be familiar with it)
Have a great weekend Gene
Hey, good to meet you. Sorry for being suspicious about the site, but one of my friends has just had her identity stolen - really scary. London is pretty horrid and raining right now. But we own a house in Northern Minnesota which we are coming to on 05 Feb. It will be the first time I have seen it in winter. And I am thinking of buying a Corvette whilst out there. Any recommendations? The sound is very important to me, so I do not think that a very modern one would do. We have a heated garage so would not be worried about storage.
Thanks Stephen,
I'll get to grips with it all and add more stuff as we go along.
Many thanks for the invite. I'm really keen to bring The Classic Motor Show to the attention of a more international audience. I realise we're not a historic motorsport event, but I know that there's a lot of crossover between love of historic racing and classic cars in general so I hope folk won't mind us being around. Our website is getting a refresh atm but will be up and running in a couple of weeks (with a bit of luck).
Actually, without looking (you may already have them included) but you should have a look at Race Retro - this is a Historic Racing Car show dedicated to this community in the UK) Apologies if you already know all about them - I think they'd be of huge interest to your members too.
Again, many thanks - looks like a great site. All the best.
Andy Rouse.
Thanks Stephen,
Nice website, great community,...I hope to meet you someday, but I'll have to work a bit on my GT6. And Québec, Canada is a bit far from you...maybe one day ! Take care !
Yves
Hi Stephen, Norm Sipple (Turner, Alfa) told me about your site. Looks like fun. I'm already jealous of your cars.
I live, and sometimes work, near Lime Rock and I've raced the Turner at Summit Point, VIR, WGI and often at LRP.
Next time you go to Goodwood, put me in the trunk. I'd bring my wife as well but she hates trunks.
cant change the photo on my info@racingdeal profile- can you or someone help me - I want to take the logo, which you have displayed already from ther link-me section of our website ?
invitation to the racingdeal group with most of the text you gave me will go out tomorrow right after the newsletter, which has the same topic !
thanks
I added a couple of our events to your events diary earlier today but I can't start a Group as you are asking for a website and we don't have one???...
Thanks for your comment on my home page. I sent a question to Ricky Bo Bo Johnston about his home page: "I am very impressed with your site and I am interested to know how you managed to get the top picture of your car to be shown in full. If you look at my site you can see that only a small bit of the photo is showing.
Would be grateful if you could let me know."
Do you have any idea about this, or is it too technical for the likes of me to understand. Do you have a techncal expert as a member who you refer these types of queries to?
I am really enjoying this site and it lookes as though membershipis balooning. Thanks Conor
Thanks for the comments Stephen, I'm glad you like all my silly old pictures, I grew up in a very automotive and racing enviroment! I do love turning wrenches on the new Audis as well as the old ones. My biggest Audi thrill was working with the Le Mans winning Team Joest in ALMS. Like a Hockey nut getting to play with Wayne Gretzky!!
Alexander will come back to me asap how we can meet- I will send you a short proposal on our joint business concept latest mid of next week. This is the text we have worked out for inviting all our subscribers:

Can't find the Racingdeal Group in the Groups/Clubs/Marques- section on your home-page ? Can you or Travis check ? Want to make sure that all my subscribers really have an easy process to join your side and the group...
Hi Stephen, great site. Bob Carroll turned me onto it. I love vintage cars and really want to gain more knowledge of vintage racing. I have been a serious autocrosser for over thirty years, won three National Championships. I still own my Lola T-342 Formula Ford, would like to do some vintage racing with it some day. What races are held in the DFW area? I would like to attend and check it out.
Hi Stephen. Thanks for your message. Race Tech has been going for 14 years and in fact we are celebrating our 100th issue in February (which we close for press on Wednesday). The magazine is a technology-led motorsport engineering magazine so looks at the here and now and the tomorrow in terms of racing cars but as with many people in motorsport, I have a deep passion for all veteran, vintage and classic cars, especially racing ones.
thank you so much, Stephen
our special newsletter on the fantastic new cooperation with myVRL
will be published tonight- this will be great news for both of us- then the special invitation to all of subscribers will go out tomorrow night to join the Racingdeal Group...
Today the Publisher from the Sports Car Digest approached me to start a cooperation on content- that means our idea to merge the actual news on all the best events and auctions worldwide with the marketplace and with the community. I think its a very professional source for vintage content- its even more specialised on historic cars like the Automotive Traveller on first sight... what are your thoughts on this ?
