Members connect with people that share a love of specific marques or types of cars (e.g. Vintage, Historic, Classic, Antique,Formula Ford, Can-Am, Trans-Am, GT and/or Historic Formula One cars).
The VRL helps members find difficult to locate parts, restoration resources, race events and car clubs in your area.
You can exchange pictures and race videos and find "same car soulmates".
I look forward to seeing some of your vintage race video's.
FYI - I'm the co-founder of The Vintage Racing League.
I owned and raced a 1975 Crossle Formula Ford. I currently own and race a 1980 March Formula Atlantic and intend to rebuild and race a 1977 Shadow DN8 F1 car.
I race with CVAR in the Southwest.
I live in Dallas.
VRL Factoids:
An estimated 4 million people in the USA own Vintage, Historic, Classic and Antique cars (10 million world-wide).
The USA is home to 79 million Baby Boomers. Every day, 50,000 retire.
There are 27 Vintage Race Clubs in the US that stage an estimated 170 events per year.
Today, approximately 30,000 members in the 27 Clubs race Vintage cars.
We want to get more people into Vintage racing and a primary purpose of this site is dedicated to that goal.
Even if people do not race, they are welcome to attend events and learn more about the compelling nature of motorsports and it's history..

About: WWW.THEVRL.COM

Stephen, Thank you for your note. I hope to add to my pages with a new vehicle purchase. I am keen on participating in the La Carrera Panamerican Race in Mexico in the next year or so. To that end I am soon to purchase a 50's vintage american iron for that effort. More later and thx agn, JDY

Thanks for the welcome aboard, Stephen. As you might guess, the three oldest cars are my toys, the AMX an old B Production racer which is undergoing restoration. I'll post some pix as soon as I can get my official photographer (the wife) to take some. TFG

    Hi, Steve,

Thanks. This was back in '04 at Concours Italiano, I hadn't asked to go up on the ramp, in fact, I had a placard that described all of the track mods I had. Don't worry, all of the mods unbolt, nothing that can't be returned to factory configuration with just a wrench, but it still was a nice surprise. Keith Martin was the perfect host, my favorite observation by him has asking what all the track days do to the maintainence schedule. Put it through the roof, in fact!

    Cheers,
    FW

Yes, I have a new partner with an established automotive social network we could bring in as a partner- PLUS the immediate traffic a forum we could
set up would retain site viewers, rather than just have them come through once and have no reason to return. Thanks Jim

Race Against Cancer Registration Form.pdfStephen, I still cannot edit the event. Could you please just delete it and I will start a new event. BTW, we would love to have you and some of the vintage cars down to Houston for the event. We expect some early 911's but nothing open wheel yet. We need 10 cars to create a new class, we have the Practice, Quali and race times set aside for a third class if your group is interested. I have attached our registration form in case you are interested or know of anyone that might be.
    Cheers.

Thanks for the question regarding on baord data acquisition.

The correct investment in on board data acquisition is to select based upon your ability to act upon the data that you acquire.

If you are chassis as opposed to motor oriented then chassis sensors are more important. If you are a strugling driver and have repetative bad habitsa system will reinforce what you do bad it is up to you for the cure.

Most racers over collect data and do nothing with what they collect. It may be wist to rent a system and an analyst for a weekend learn what you can collect, decide what is actionable for you and then invest.

Thank you for the invite to The Ventage Racing League. I always wanted to run in the ventage arena, but, my car is a 79' camero GT1, and is to new for most of the events. However, does TVRL have a spot for this car???? Will I be able to participate in your events?? If so, I am looking forward to joining all of you on the track. Thanks again.

    Stephen,
I am a member of ECR, and have driven it several times. Its wide, lots of elevation changes, and very techicnal. The plans for the rack are spectacular when completed. But, the runoff areas are a bit rough. Don't skid of the track if you can help it. The surface is well done, no real rough areas with several double corners that can be driven as one. My faverate track is Hallett, but, ECR is gaining more and more each time I get on it. It will be a great place to have the first event and many more. Good choice.

    Thanks Stephen,
The car is a 1970 Brawner McGee Scorpion ran at USAC Indy Car events during the 1970-1971 seasons by Roger McClusky and Art Pollard. I have recently completed restoration of the car and attended the Vintage event at Darlington Speedway over Labor Day Weekend. We ran the car for 4 sessions without incident.
    Thanks, Doug

    thanks for the invite Stephen...

you've made a great looking website - hope it carries on!

Sadly, I'm almost 100% certain I'll never be racing my Lamborghini Jarama but then, maybe some other old car, maybe some day!
  • John P. Baldo

IM very proud to be here. I glad that I was asked.
  • David Price

    Stephen

There is another edition of LCUK's magazine coming up soon and I can also 'auto-invite' others via our website...

Exactly how 'vintage' should a car be - there are one or two folk around both here in the UK and elsewhere who race Lamborghinis but they are almost always Diablos or more likely Murciélagos and Gallardos...

I'll try to add a profile shot as well - it might be a lo-res shot of my old motor - not at all red but only as 'green' as deep as the paint goes!
  • Bob Lee

Hi Steve, interesting idea a social website for vintage racers. I need to learn how to send in the photos. I will post some photos of my cars shortly.
