Bugatti Grand Prix at Laguna Seca - Rolex Race on Saturday, August 14, 2010 at 2:40pm
I missed the start on video, but started the movie on turn 5 of lap 1. Started in 9th, and came thru start still in 9th.
Camera in 1927 Bugatti T37A driven by Andrew Larson. Following Scott Hansen (#30) in T51.
First four laps, 6 Bugattis in a line pretty close together - Sandy Greene, Richard Longes, Charlie Shalvoy, Craig Barto, Scott Hansen. Richard Longes can be seen but up in the distance.
A flag is flown for "vehicle on Track" on lap 5 and we pass Tom Clifford (#33) in T37A (as his magneto is falling out). As Charlie Shalvoy passes Tom in the Corkscrew, we get held up, and this creates a gap to the other 3 cars.
Lap 6 - I hit oil on top of Turn 8 at Corkscrew and go sideways in 2 directions (apparently the crowd went crazy). Also, on lap 6, we hit lapped traffic, and pass Peter Mullin (T57SC) on turn 10, and Cordell Bahn (T35C) and Geoff Dorey (T44) down the front straight.
Happy to be the highest placing T37A and 4 cylinder car, in 9th place!

1 - Charles Dean (T51) - 2:00
2 - Peter Giddings (T35B) - 2:03
