Hello. I have been a fan of sports car/road racing since I first attended the Watkins Glen Five-Star weekend in 1973. This featured the Can-AM, Formula 5000, Championship of Makes, Super Vee, and Vintage races. The Penske Porsche 917/30 Sunoco Can-Am car was dominant that year in the Can-Am, the Matras won the 6-hour endurance race, and Mario Andretti won the F-5000. It was a great weekend and I was hooked. Since then, I have regularly attended races and have introduced many friends to the spectacle of racing.
My professional background is in graphics and photography (earned a Photography degree from Kent State University). Approximately eight years ago, I changed careers and have gotten into the security field. One of my career goals growing up was to get involved with racing photography. Life happens, and that never did (except for myself). My new goal is to jump-start my photography career, focusing on automobile/sports car racing, and ultimately publish my work.
I plan to be out there this year at tracks such as Mid-Ohio, VIR, Summit Point, and Watkins Glen. Hope to see you all there.
What car(s) do you own?
Currently, I own a Toyota Corolla and Subaru Forester. Practical yes, but nice automobiles. My favorite car that I owned was a 1978 Volkswagen Rabbit (Diesel). I liked it so much, and drove it so much I owned three Rabbits in a row (1978, 1980, and 1985). Each car took me well over 150,000. They were lots of fun.
What do you like to do (e.g. vintage race with...)?
I'm a true spectator, and have not gotten into racing myself. I have been tempted, but would never rule out the opportunity in the future. Regarding the spectator side of racing, I have attended IndyCar/CART, IMSA/ALMS, SCCA/Trans-AM/SPEED WC/etc., along with vintage racing events.
What clubs do you belong to?
No racing clubs.
What would you like to do (e.g. go to race school; get into Vintage Racing)?
(see above)
