Former working life as a Mechanical Engineer. Now retired and spending most of my lesiure time (it's wonderful) driving or working on my 1965 Shelby Cobra 427 S/C. Alas, it is a replica but I think it's great.
What car(s) do you own?
2004 Jeep Grand Cherokee (for trailer pulling)
2008 Lexus LS460 (daily driver)
2004 Superformance replica of 1965 Shelby6 Cobra with a FI Roush 8 stack
427 coupled to a Tremec T-56 6 Speed.
What do you like to do (e.g. vintage race with...)?
I raced from 1959 to 1972. Started with a TR3 and then A and B Production Corvettes at tracks in the Midwest and California. Now I like to go to the local tracks (not many in Southern New Mexico) and watch racing or drive the Cobra on open track days. I love to work on the beast and constantly improve it. I spend some time with the Speed Channel too.
What clubs do you belong to?
VRL of course and our local Coyote Cobra Club. There are six of us.
What would you like to do (e.g. go to race school; get into Vintage Racing)?
Too old to compete in wheel to wheel racing now- both mental and physical ages. Old Dirty Harry line: "A man has got to know his limitations". I live vicariously thru others who do race. Magazines, TV and the Internet are my platforms. I love to wring out my Cobra at open track days. On those days I participate in drags and closed course road racing.
