Happy to hear from former FF competitors in the UK circa 1972/3. I raced against many who went on to greater fame and fortune. Danny Sullivan is one I remember.
We have run the FF school in Australia since 1988. We had several 1600 Kent cars: The Mawer 004b, an Elfin 600, a Van Diemen RF 85, a Reynard and a Van Diemen RF 89. These were sold circa 2004 and replaced by 2 x RF 89 and a pair of RF 99s from England. At one stage we had a Reynard Formula Holden in the school. Silly me.
The Mawer was modified with supercharger and then a Toyota 4AGZ-E for Hillclimbing for a while. I also had a March 77B with a supercharged YBM on Methanol with Motec ECU. This had about 500BHP and weighed about 550kg.
Gaye and I run the Racing and Advanced Driving Schools at Oran Park.
Keep an eye out for my photographic work in Casey Annis' Vintage Racecar magazine and the feature on Frank Cuttell's FIAT Gipsy racing car. This should be in one of the editions this year.
