I trained as a sheet metal worker and worked for several years on aircraft production and then car prtotypes before joining Williams F1 in 1977 until retirement in 2003, working on every chasis f.rom FW06 to FW19.
My first love has always been motorbikes, and for many years I rode in off road trials most week-ends. This has taken me all over the country from Scotland to Deveon, including The Is;le of Mam).
From 1949 to 1951 I completed National Service in Germany working in the REME workshops
