I went to my first F1 race at the Glen in 1964. Friday morning's practice started at 9:00am, and by 9:05am, I was hooked! The smell of the exhaust, the exotic looking cars, and the excitement of international added so much to that weekend.

I went to many F1, CanAm, and other race events up there. Even went to a race in August of '69 instead of going to some rock concert down in Bethel, NY. OK, so maybe I missed a big event, but I still had fun introducing my little brother to the fun a car racing.

I have some great memories of that place: seeing my first mini-skirt clad "bird", having the unfortunate luck to be right at the fence and location where Bob Bondurant and his car went flying through the air, ending his career as a driver, some of the interesting Bog parties, etc., etc. Just a great race course and a fun place to spend a weekend.
