The last Ferrari 250 GTO sold at public auction for $38 million. Another GTO was listed last year for $56 million. Clearly, the Ferrari 250 GTO is a ferociously expensive car, and yet, we often see them getting thrashed like they're ratty little Spec Miata race cars.
This particular GTO is even more special, and perhaps valuable, than most, as it's one of just seven GTOs wearing "Series II" bodywork. Here, it's being driven by Dutch racer Nicky Pastorelli at the 75th Goodwood Member's Meeting last month. The event is the Graham Hill trophy, which features a number of AC Cobras, Jaguar E-Types, Ferrari 250s and others all going at each other.
Goodwood put up an onboard video of Pastorelli in the 250 GTO for our enjoyment, and it's pretty fantastic. Be sure to put in headphones to get the full sound experience of the 250's 3.0-liter six-carburetor V12.
