New Year's Day event at Brooklands Museum, Weybridge, UK.

A heads-up for our UK based members.

I have been asked by Brooklands Museum to help them with a little pre-Christmas publicity for their New Year’s Day event.
The Museum will be open again on New Year’s Day in 2010 for the largest New Year’s classic car gathering in the South East so if you’re not nursing too sore a head from the night before then please come along. The bar and restaurants will be open for the Museum’s traditional turkey-free New Year’s Day lunches and snacks.
All pre-1973 cars, bikes and commercial vehicles, and pre-booked club groups, are welcome through the Campbell Gate on the (B374) Brooklands Road – and all occupants of pre-1973 vehicles will enjoy a £1 discount. If you just want to come and look at this wonderful collection of pre – 1973 vehicles, as well as the rest of the Museum and its exhibits, there will be additional parking in The Heights off Wellington Way.
Expect anything from veteran cars to Hot Rods to classic bikes - that’s the joy of this event - you just don’t know what is going to turn up!
The Museum is open from 10am, so turn up early to get a good spot!
Please find attached a few photographs from the last event, as you can see, an eclectric mix!

I've just heard that we had a record attendance on New Year's Day this year, nearly 2500 people turned up, which isn't bad!

No link there David! Thanks for your note anyway.
Anyways, please feel free to tell as many of your 'old car' friends as possible about the Brooklands event, we want to try and make it a really big one this year!

Hi Gary

Thanks for your comment on my Angouléme photo, a great event, unfortunately clashing with the Goodwood revival this year! However I made the choice of Angouléme as it meant I got to drive there via 4 alpine passes including the Stelvio and the Gavia with 8 other Spridgets.

I hope to be at Brooklands on New Years Day, in my A7 if weather permits. I enjoyed your website; Here's a link to my main photo site there should be some to interest you

best wishes

David
