Masters continues US charge
Masters USA is ready for an exciting season in 2017, with three Formula 1 Support races and appearances at some of the best events in North America’s historic racing calendar.
The US season starts on May 19th-20th in sunny California as part of the inaugural Spring Classic event. This year the iconic Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca circuit celebrates 60 years of racing and a grid of Masters cars sweeping down the famous corkscrew always thrills the crowds. After the perfect West Coast warm up Masters sees a welcome return to the Formula 1 Support Race at the Circuit Gilles Villeneuver in Montreal on June 9th-11th. As Canada celebrates 50 years of Formula 1 the road trip will continue a week later at another previous home of the Canadian Grand Prix, Mosport, Toronto to be a part of the VARAC Vintage Grand Prix.
Moving into July (21st-23rd) Masters USA will again visit the WeatherTech International Challenge with Brian Redman presented by Hawk at one of North America’s must-do events. The 4-mile Road America track, boasts 14 turns and is revered the world over as one of the most challenging road courses. The famous town of Elkhart Lake will take centre stage for a weekend of social festivities.
After a short summer break, the Masters USA season will finish off with two unmissable races, both at Formula One Grand Prix. On October 20th-22nd, Masters USA will provide a support race to the United States Grand Prix at the Circuit of the Americas. This will be a third visit to this event and come rain or shine, in the past there has been both, the event is a real showcase for Formula 1 Historic machinery. We will then hopefully head south again to enjoy a wonderful friendly reception at the Gran Premio de Mexico (October 27th-29th) that takes place at the Autodromo Hermanos Rodriguez. Both support races should be a great success with the fans and the enthusiastic crowds at both events will be treated to a memory-jogging grid.
Ron Maydon, Masters USA Founder said: “We are very excited with the calendar that we have in place for 2017. The chance to showcase our Historic cars at three F1 Support Races and to continue to be invited to the top circuits on the East and West Coasts and Canada shows just how far we have come Stateside. It will be a fun season for Masters USA again this year!!”
