GORDON MCCALL CELEBRATES 20 YEARS OF THE MOTORWORKS REVIVAL: Celebrating the 20
anniversary as the exclusive VIP kick-off event and charitable fundraiser for the California Highway Patrol 11-99 Foundation, Gordon McCall “sets the bar high” for this years event held at the Monterey Jet Center, Monterey, CA.,
Wednesday, August 17
This year’s twentieth anniversary celebration is destined to be one of the best as Gordon and Molly McCall prepare to “wow” their faithful following of VIP guests now topping over 2500. The horsepower of the guests surpass even the horsepower on display, while McCall’s private airport party has become known as the highest concentration of high-powered people and machinery on the Monterey Peninsula for the entire Monterey car week.
Starting with a “bubbly” reception at the event entry with fine Schramsberg Blanc de Blanc sparkling wines, the event’s celebration continues with more anniversary toasts inside featuring Roederer Estate and L’ Ermitage labels
and Bernardus extraordinary local award-winning wines. The evening continues with appetizers and a strolling dinner, serving small composed specialties created with California’s best regional foods.
Iconic brands support the elegant evening including Breitling, the exclusive Swiss watch maker, automotive
highlights with Aston Martin, Bentley, Ferrari, Lamborghini, Lotus, Pagani, and Porsche, and shining state of the art corporate aircraft from aviation leaders Bombardier, Embraer, Gulfstream, Piaggio, Pilatus.
With a discerning crowd of VIP guests, both International aircraft and high-end motorsports manufacturers rely on the exclusive exposure at McCall’s event to stage world-wide launches of their latest models. In turn, collectors and aficionados attend the event to get the first look at what’s to come in the market and perhaps secure the advantage of placing the first order.
Motorsports icons return each year to see old friends and meet new ones. Racing legends such as Jim Hall, Bobby Rahal, Carroll Shelby, Wayne Rainey, Jim Busby, Danny Sullivan, Dan Gurney, and many others roam the 30,000 square foot state-of-the-art hangar and adjacent 6+ acre tarmac loaded with fine vintage automobiles, fighter jets, and stunning corporate aircraft.
“Each year, we build the event from the ground up starting with our guest list and every year I am astounded to meet people from all over the world who have heard of the event and would like to be a part of it. This years event is really coming together well with some amazing airplanes and cars…
There’s a lot to do and see on the Monterey Peninsula over the week in August and we love being a part of the exciting energy.” says McCall, a passionate Motorsports enthusiast who travels the country now wearing many hats:
As Good Will “Ambassador” and CEO for the MOTORWORKS event, Specialist for Bonhams & Butterfields, and Co-Founder of the elegant motorsports gathering “The Quail”, and The Quail Motorcycle Gathering- Two world class events for motorsports and motorcycle enthusiasts. McCall stays busy and keeps his “ear to the ground” year round, not only staying on top of every aspect of the car market both vintage and contemporary but also meeting the world’s most interesting collectors and automobile aficionados.
Charity is the focus of the McCall Motorworks event “E-ticket” fun, as the California Highway Patrol’s 11-99
Foundation is the beneficiary of Gordon’s year-long campaigning and keen vision for the annual bash.
Each year, Breitling donates a chronograph watch to the event “raffle” and guests purchase tickets for a chance to win. Annually, the generosity of this VIP group has resulted in a six-figure total for the California Highway Patrol 11-99 charity.
