A Car Story - sort of.......................................................:-))

This is a wonderful piece by Michael Gartner, editor of newspapers large

and small and president of NBC News. In 1997, he won the Pulitzer Prize for editorial writing. It is well worth reading, and a few good chuckles are guaranteed.

My father never drove a car. Well, that's not quite right. I should say

I never saw him drive a car. He quit driving in 1927, when he was 25 years old, and the last car he drove was a 1926 Whippet. "In those days," he told me when he was in his… Continue

What am I looking for in a Motorsport Investor ?

I am crazy enough to be seeking a motorsport investor at 54 years old. I have previous professional motocross (motorcycle) racing experience....but it's been a LONG time. It can be either Vintage (or new car) racing. I have always had the talent, but never the money to back it up.
I can be reached at 480-241-2331 ( Mesa, Arizona USA ).

Aston Martin

Dear Classic Owner,

Happy New Year! What a cold start to 2010 and we’re not the only ones who need wrapping up warm in this weather, it’s a time when you really have to keep an eye on your classic car more then ever.

Falling temperatures can have a devastating effect on classic vehicles when stored in very cold environments, even if you have heated storage units. Cold affects all parts of the car and we all know the problems salt has to chassis and engines, so do take all available… Continue

The VRL works

Just to say thank you to the VRL.

I am restoring a 1957 Mercedes 300 SL Roadster and have been looking for a rotary dail light switch, flasher switch and parking light choice switch for over 6 months. I search on Google, Ebay, Mercedes Club sites, went to swap meets, asked my contacts in Europe all without any luck of finding my parts.

By signing up to the VRL and the different Groups it took me less then 1 day to find the parts I needed. Todd Jenkins referred me to Dave at Lyco who… Continue

Fantasies in Fiberglass

When hearing the word "fiberglass", most people think of the Chevrolet Corvette, an iconic American sports car with humble beginnings. When Chevrolet wanted to dip a toe into the sports car pond, it knew the production numbers would be low and took advantage of fiberglass' simple and inexpensive construction technique to create a sporty body to sit on top of Chevrolet sedan underpinnings. A cottage industry of limited production sports cars,… Continue
