Just to say thank you to the VRL.
I am restoring a 1957 Mercedes 300 SL Roadster and have been looking for a rotary dail light switch, flasher switch and parking light choice switch for over 6 months. I search on Google, Ebay, Mercedes Club sites, went to swap meets, asked my contacts in Europe all without any luck of finding my parts.
By signing up to the VRL and the different Groups it took me less then 1 day to find the parts I needed. Todd Jenkins referred me to Dave at Lyco who…

When hearing the word "fiberglass", most people think of the Chevrolet Corvette, an iconic American sports car with humble beginnings. When Chevrolet wanted to dip a toe into the sports car pond, it knew the production numbers would be low and took advantage of fiberglass' simple and inexpensive construction technique to create a sporty body to sit on top of Chevrolet sedan underpinnings. A cottage industry of limited production sports cars,…

I don't care what it is, new or vintage...and if it's vintage, it doesn't matter if it's European or an American Muscle Car.

I had a very pleasant experience this morning that I wanted to share with you (not that kind of experience!) It perfectly illustrates why you should be speaking to the right people when it comes to classic cars.
A couple of years ago, I had a few meetings with a client a E-Typr Jaguar. Unfortunately, for whatever reason I didn't win the business and he bought a cheaper vehicle to the one I suggested.
Now, like everyone else involved in business, I moved on to my other hot…

The question has come up asking when is a racecar considered vintage anyway? I am looking for what other folks think in this regard. A friend from the San Antonio area said it becomes vintage when it stops being competitive in whatever venue it races. That is a very interesting view. It has a lot of merit. I bet there are a lot of dust covered cars parked in storage of one sort or another that are very close to being scrapped. A car like that might get to the point of not having a good supply…

The '09 La Carrera Panamericana was sell out for the second year in a row with 107 entries. Given the world's economy, that was something of a surprise.
The race was a little more newsworthy because the brother of the president of Mexico participated in a vintage Alfa, and the owners of the big Mexican TV company, Televisa, were also competitors. Another entry of note was the "Leningrad Cowboys," a rock band from Finland, that was apparently retracing the steps of Pink Floyd, who…
