Hi Scott- Thanks for the contact. How very cool that you have that direct connection with the Climax Special ! I no longer own the car, but I do know who does (info below). When I did own and race the car, both my wife and I thoroughly enjoyed racing it with CSRG and HMSA in Northern California. I ran it at the Monteray Historic Races several times, as did the friend I sold the car to (Bill Schworer). We both ran it with the number "999", and got quite a bit of attention. I actually traded the Special to Bill for a Ferrari 512BB Boxer !
, who seems to commute between the East Coast and Europe. He owned the Special, and offered to sell it back to me. We never came to terms, so I'd guess he still has the car.
The Climax Special (as we called it for short) was a fun, good looking, historically significant car. It is a testament to your Father and his friend that it is still active in Vintage Racing !
