I published it already and it has been advertised in the NASOC News insert for the past couple of issues. See http://singercarbooks.blogspot.com/ for details. It started with a couple of photos I came across about 5 years ago which showed a couple of Singers on the track. I hadn't been aware that they were involved at all in the racing scene. The difficulty of course, was finding someone who could tell me about it. I didn't know where to start, but I kept my ear to the ground and asked questions when I could. Serendipity played a part of course. I got an email from a past president of the Singer owners club of America (defunct in '62) telling me he had some old club newsletters (The Singer Squeal) that he would like to pass on. I asked him if he knew of anyone who raced at the time. He said "Hell yes, I did. The SOC was the hairiest racing club in the California Sports Car Council". He told me of his experiences, dug out some old photos and gave me a few other names to follow up on. Fortunately many of these guys are still with us (late seventies, early eighties) and I have spoken to as many as I could. They were of course pleased to see their names in print and relive some wonderful moments of their lives. You wouldn't likely recognize any of the names as only a handful of these guys reached anywhere near the top of the sport, but you might recognize some of the names they raced with and beat - guys like Phil Hill, Ken Miles, John von Neumann, Briggs Cunningham and more.
