My plan is to take the car to Road America for the May SVRA race. I live in Milwaukee so that is my home track. I would have liked to have a test day somewhere first but that isn't working out. That is why I was asking about set up. Even though I have raced the B36 for years I am a little apprehensive about the first time in the car. Glad to hear it is somewhat forgiving. Although all Chevrons seem to write you a letter before you lose it. After Road America probably will take it to Mid Ohio in June. I added a picture of car to my page...... Brian
Thanks Tony, this is the Bill Brack car. Pat Phalan sold it to a guy in Arizona who never drove it. I was able to get the car along with a set of body moulds for a lot less then he was asking. The car is actually in very good shape, engine new by Quicksilver. The trans needed some help and we are putting new shocks and springs in it. Everything else was good. Also adding a bead seat. I may need to bother you for some info.
Thanks,
Brian
Tony, my name is Brian Stark. I vintage race a Chevron B36 and just bought a B29. I understand you had one for many years. I am looking for a good starting point for front and rear spring rates. Car has 220 front and 230 rear and that seems quite soft, but I don't know. Any help is appreciated. Thanks, Brian
Hey, Tony! Good to hear from you. We do have to get together and race, or party, or something!
I'm working at the MINI store in Stamford - stay in touch!
Hi Tony!
Since you are fellow nutmegger, I'm assuming you've been to Lime Rock?
Make sure to join the Lime Rock Park group and stay up-to-date with what's going on. Hope to see you at the track in 2009!
Season is winding dow now. I'm off to the NARRC runoffs tomorrow. Not sure if I'll get to Atlanta. If you see Bruce MacInnes (chief instructor for SAkip Barber) tell him you're a friend of mine. He's bound to help you, or at least tell you some wild stories about the CanAm season when I was his crewchief.
We'll have to talk shop sometime. I have been working in pharma product development for 29 years.
