Work-wise, I am an Australian primary school teacher, located in Eltham which is a suburb of Melbourne, Victoria, and I teach at Epping Primary.
i have been involved in motorsport, principally rallying for over 35 years, mainly as a navigator. I have navigated/codriven in various Datsun 1600s, mk2 Ford Escorts, an ex-works BMW M3R, a Fiat 131 Mirafiori, Rover TDI, among others. I currently navigate with Joe Wilson in his 1974 Triumph P2500. We were the 2009 VRC Classic series winners together.
What car(s) do you own?
I own a Hyundai IX 35 (SUV) - my road car.
What do you like to do (e.g. vintage race with...)?
For recreation, I navigate in rally cars, principally on gravel events, however i have also competed in tarmac racing events: Targa Tasmania (2008); Mt Buller Sprint and Targa High Country (both 2009).

What clubs do you belong to?
I am a member of the Historic Rally Association, based in Melbourne, Victoria.
What would you like to do (e.g. go to race school; get into Vintage Racing)?
If possible I would like to connect with Doug Warneke who drives a 1962 Lotus Super 7. I saw a photo of him on your site wearing his helmet, seated in his car.
I wonder if we are related somehow?
What vintage, historic, classic etc. cars would you like to own?
Mk2 Ford Escort BDA
Lancia Delta Integrale
Historic Cars Owned
Many years ago, I built up my road car, a 1972 Toyota Corolla into a rather potent rally car, using it also as my daily transport (before marriage, children, etc)
Hi Martin, thanks for reaching out to me! It's indeed a small world with our last name; I can only assume we're related froms somewhere back in the Plistocene era!
Seriously, my grandparents on my father's side came to the US from Germany back in the 20's; my father was born in Brooklyn, NY while my mother was an English 'war bride'. Both are deceased. My immediate family consists of a wife - no children - so I guess the 'bloodline' runs out at our end.
It's nice to know I have a 'namesake' from down-under!
Cheers,
Doug
