A Brief History
MGRE has been building and maintaining racing engines, power trains, and cars since 1962. During this time, we participated in about every form of motor sports - SCCA, IMSA, USRRC, WSC, FIA, USAC, NASCAR, NHRA, AHRA, IHRA, SCORE, Land Speed Records and many more. We have been National Champions and World Champions in many of these forms of racing. We have held and still hold many records, lap records, and series championships.

The expertise developed from the many years of association with firms like the above, is reflected in our own racing program. From 1962 to 1973, we were involved with Championship Drag Racing, Indy Cars, and NASCAR. During our eleven years of drag racing, we developed quite a record - held NHRA National records in 5 different classes, qualified for the NHRA World Finals 5 times, won the NHRA World Championship in 1973 and held 45 different track records. Over these eleven years, we were also involved with several Indy Car and NASCAR teams.
Since 1974, we have been participating in SCCA Road Racing and have been quite successful. We have won 28 Southwest Division SCCA National Road Racing Championships. During these 32 years, we have accumulated 148 first place finishes, 21 second place finishes, and 11 third place finishes in National races. We have qualified for 140 pole positions and have set 87 track records. In the 2001 season, we sat on the pole and won every National race we finished. We have qualified for and raced in the SCCA National Runoffs 29 different times.
