Marketing Director for the nation's third oldest car museum, Sarasota Classic Car Museum which is home to over 100+ vintage, antique, classic and one-of-a- kind American and European autos.
What car(s) do you own?
The Museum has a collection consisting of John and Mabel Ringling's (of the circus fame) Rolls Royces and Pierce Arrow, three John Lennon automobiles, Psychedelic Bentely SI, his 1965 Mercedes Benz convertable 230 SL and his last car a Mercedes Benz station wagon and Paul McCartney,s Radford Mini Cooper. A stunning collection of American classics including a 1955 Red Corvette, Ford and Chevy "woodies", Pontiac, Buick, Hudson, Studebaker and a few "what were they thinking?" automobiles. The Tiburon Roadster aka "the Shark" touted as the "world's most aerodynamical car" is on display until October of 2009. The museum's "Shark" is one of only six ever produced and one of three known to still exist, manufactured in St. Petersburg, FL. The museum's collection rivals many national and international public and private collections, too numerous to list all of the vehicles on an ever-changing display.
What do you like to do (e.g. vintage race with...)?
Although none of the Museum's cars are used for racing now, several of the vehicles were race winners in their time. Jim Lieberman's "Swamp Rat" once held the British Land Speed title, a 1930s mini racer and several "muscle cars" that are well known in the racing circuits for their speed and perfect aerodynamics are also on display.
