Matra MS650 at the 1970 Daytona 24-Hours

The bad luck continued for all Matras as they suffered from broken ignition points during the race. They used up eight of them and at the end of the race resorted to using glue to keep the ignition points together. Matra parked their cars in the pits until the last couple of minutes of the race then fired them up, broken ignition points and all, and tooled the cars around for the finish at 15 mph. It was important to them that they finish under power.
