Mark Donohue and Peter Revson drove this Penske prepared AMC Javelin at Daytona in 1970. This was a big disappointment to me because Penske and Donohue won Daytona in 1969 in a Lola T70 Mk IIIB. Guess sponsorship money was more important. In '69 Donohue had fuel feed problems in the Lola and in 1970 Donohue ran out of gas coming into turn one and coasted to a stop in the infield. He had to hoof it back to the pits for a can of gas before he could continue. The car failed to finish due to oil pressure problems. Wish Penske had turned his talents to building a Ferrari 512M in 1970 to challenge the factory Porsches.
