Was it Jacky Ickx in a Ferrari 312B2 ? Hulme was down in 12th in this McLaren M19A? Besides the weather ( I was just back from months in Morocco ) what I remember most was the sound of the P160 V/12 BRM's of Rodriguez and Siffert. There was a silent Lotus turbo running that was the opposite no sound or at best a load swish as it went by. Rodriguez died two or three weeks later in some h*** in the wall sports car race.

It was 1971 Zandvort in a heavy rain with a very cold wind.
