Tony Adamowicz and Ronnie Bucknum drove this NART Ferrari 512S to second place at Daytona in 1971. At one point late in the race they actually had a small lead over the Gulf Porsche 917K of Pedro Rodriguez and Jackie Oliver. The Porsche was in the pits for transmission repairs and when it returned to the race quickly overtook the Ferrari because the Ferrari was ailing from broken valve springs. The finish was the closest in the Daytona 24 up to that time.
