Clarkson cuts me up on one of the most dangerous corners on the Nurbergring...so I got out and biffed him one in the pits, in the eye in fact...so does this now make him a member of the Black Eye Pease?! (1/4/13)
What a great two weeks we've had. Firstly we went to a well-known London auction house to see a rare Comete car mascot knocked down for near £80,000 (GBP)! A well known provintial dealer who was hiding right at the back of the room, came out and started bidding but stopped shy and walked out prior to the hammer falling...I heard two dealers say one to the other "He's walked out with his tail between his legs"..."yes with his mate too!".
Over the next weekend I was down at Portobello Road antique market and calledin to see two well know traders in Lalique and they tried to convince me that a pair of Chrysis paperweights were in fact car mascots...why because they had very recently been scored to form rims round the base for retaining the metal radiator mounts...how do I know this?...because the white residue dust was still on them!!!...what cheats! Sunday I was offered a Morgan three wheeler at the Bromley Motoring Pageant, nice trike but an 'F Type' not as desirable as the Supersports and others. What do you think for about $20,000 (US)?
