About Me:
I am a Senior Staff Mechanical Engineer with Lockheed Martin. I live in Clarksville, Maryland, just south west of Baltimore, but my wife and I are planning to return to the West Coast. I have been a car guy since I was 10 but have been on the outside of competition (autocross/crewing) until the purchase of this Sprite.

This HP 1959 Austin Healey Sprite was raced since new, I am the third owner. The second owner parked the car in 1974 and I purchased it in 1999. The last entry in the log book was a regional at Summit Point in fall of 1974,

It was disassembled and updated to vintage racing specification including dual braking system, upgraded roll bar, upgraded seat and fuel cell plus some personal touches.

I am now competing in SCCA Time Trail and Hillclimb events in the vintage class. These events are run by the Pennyslvania Hillclimb Association (www.pahillclimb.org) a group of SCCA regions that have been putting on these events for years. The car has raced at the Duryea Hillclimb; Polish Mountain Hillclimb; Hershey Vintage Hillclimb and Summit Point time trails. After two years of competition the 948cc engine was replaced with a Seven Enterprises 1275 (1310).
What do you like to do (e.g. vintage race with...)?
Production Racer

    Hello Tom,

I also race a 1959 Bugeye Sprite and I am the 4th owner/driver. I race in the midwest with VSCDA and run an"Era Correct" 948 that is pretty quick. Hope to see more of your car.
