    Turns out that gearbox wasn't Leeson, it was a Cortina 3 rail box with new Quaife straight cut synchromesh gears installed. Nice box, will probably race again in a friend's Mk2 Cortina GT vintage B Sedan.
    I'll post some more photos of the Escort right now.

    Escort has the Quaife axles & full floater bearings, no problems with them so far. Back when racing the LoCort in 1969, I lost a left rear axle, brake drum, wheel & tire on the back straight in an IMSA Under 2 Liter race at Montgomery, AL. Got it to the pits OK, happily.
