Burt "BS" Levy

78, Male

Profile Information:

About Me:
I've been racing (mostly in other people's cars!) and writing about it for almost 40 years. You'd think that would be long enough to get good at one or the other of them, wouldn't you?
But that hasn't stopped me! I've got five (soon to be six) books out there that you really ought to buy. I don't care if you read them just so long as you BUY them.
You might like them, though....
I went through my first drivers' school in 1970 and have won something like 100 amateur and vintage races (and 8 season championships) in a wide variety of cars.
More info than you'd ever want to know about me and my books is available on the website at www.lastopenroad.com
What car(s) do you own?
1954 Austin Healey 100/4 that needs a little bit of everything, Mazda 6 (nice wife's car), a Ford Windstar that has faithfully carried my books & me to events for years and the bicycle I ride to work on days when it isn't raining, snowing or sleeting
What do you like to do (e.g. vintage race with...)?
I enjoy beating the living crap out of other people's famous old racecars and being paid (although not much) for the privilege. Look for my stories about it in Vintage Motorsport magazine. I also enjoy instructing new race drivers & club members, and I'm occasionally hired on as guest speaker at various car club events around the country..
What clubs do you belong to?
VSCDA
SCCA
SVRA/HSR
What would you like to do (e.g. go to race school; get into Vintage Racing)?
I'd like to have more time to just go play with cars.
Location
1010 Lake St., Suite 103

I have all 4 of your Buddy Palumbo novels + your Potside Companion. Am anxiously looking forward to your next book. When do you expect it to be published? I think I met you & had one of your books autographed for me, several years ago, when you were at the Blackhawk Auto Museum, where I am a Docent. Do you ever race any cars at Infineon Raceway. I am also a corner worker, there. Once again, I'm looking forward to #5 in the Last Open Road series.
