About Me:
Gary Faules is a former Oregonian who still holds records as a former Olympic skeet shooter, racecar driver and team owner and finished 3rd in class in the world famous 2007 La Carrera Panamericana. He has traveled the world as both a big-game hunter and angler and has been a freelance writer for both racing and automotive as well as sport shooting publications not to mention his latest book I Slept In Africa made The Forbes Book List. Seeking adventure is only second nature as he continues his dream of living life to the max since almost being left blind as a child due to a freak accident. Besides being recognized in Who’s Who, he has been the recipient of numerous awards, several being congressional recognition awards for helping others. As CEO of his own corporation, Gary both works and lives near San Francisco, California, where he spends much of his time enjoying his family and waiting for the next adventure so that he can continue the journey.

Several but favorites are Shelbys and Viper.

Endurance race

What would you like to do (e.g. go to race school; get into Vintage Racing)?
I have been racing for years and have won multiple race championships and more endurance races than any team in the U.S. including the first driver to win the Timex 12 Hours of Thunderhill endurance three consecutive times and the first to win the United States Air Force 25 Hours of Thunderhill and won the Mexican Gran Prix in 1999. Besides actively racing with NASA I am the Mentor Director. In 2007 I made my first attempt at La Carrera Panamericana and in doing so finished 8th overall and 3rd in class.
