The Vintage Racing League is the leading online community for people who love racing and cars. Its free to join.
Members connect with people that share a love of specific marques or types of cars (e.g. Vintage, Historic, Classic, Antique,Formula Ford, Can-Am, Trans-Am, GT and/or Historic Formula One cars).
The VRL helps members find difficult to locate parts, restoration resources, race events and car clubs in your area.
You can exchange pictures and race videos and find "same car soulmates".
I look forward to seeing some of your vintage race video's.
FYI - I'm the co-founder of The Vintage Racing League.
I owned and raced a 1975 Crossle Formula Ford. I currently own and race a 1980 March Formula Atlantic and intend to rebuild and race a 1977 Shadow DN8 F1 car.
I race with CVAR in the Southwest.
I live in Dallas.
VRL Factoids:
An estimated 4 million people in the USA own Vintage, Historic, Classic and Antique cars (10 million world-wide).
The USA is home to 79 million Baby Boomers. Every day, 50,000 retire.
There are 27 Vintage Race Clubs in the US that stage an estimated 170 events per year.
Today, approximately 30,000 members in the 27 Clubs race Vintage cars.
We want to get more people into Vintage racing and a primary purpose of this site is dedicated to that goal.
Even if people do not race, they are welcome to attend events and learn more about the compelling nature of motorsports and it's history..
About: WWW.THEVRL.COM
We created a place where owners and lovers of vintage, historic, classic and antique cars could find each other, exchange pictures, videos and information about how to fix, restore, and race cars.
Ask your friends to join the Vintage Racing League @ www.thevrl.com.
Feel free to create new groups, post pictures for us all to share and share the site with your friends.
Welcome to the Vintage Racing League.
Warmest regards - Stephen Page

Hi Steve, I'm new to this, after many years of solos and hillclimbs, I started road-racing this spring with the FRCCA, Got my license, and ran with the SVRA at the GLEN in September. I hillclimbed MGs' Lotus, Porsches' Minis' ande won the PHA class championship in 68,69, inan MG1100 sedan ZOWEE !!
I'm an oldie, but new to this, My Fv is probably the oldest existing BEACH in the country, it had a great history. It's Heavy and slow, like the driver. I loved the Glen, I could catch a bunch of cars in my group in the corners,, and then they would blow by me on the next straight.OH well 2 more Horsepower ??
Anyway it is a fun car that I can almost afford to race, and I hope to have a few more years to do it.
I did beat 2 formula fords in the spring at Summit Point, that was a thrill.
Yes we are familiar with your site and have been working with Travis extensively to perfect your App. We apologize for the delay in your App release, however each time Apple releases new code we must integrate this back into the app in order to stay current with the existing Apple operating systems. You have an amazing site, and once we publish your app it will be one of the first ones to use all of our latest cutting edge technology, far surpassing current social networking apps today. We would like to congratulate both you and Travis on a job well done. This is one of the best social apps we have seen to date. Your App will be live shortly in the Apple Store. Also would you allow us to feature your app in one of our upcoming commercials?
Hi Stephen, I joined some time ago,but Jackie and I have been travelling in Europe in the mighty Fuel Burner, 07 Mercedes Benz SL55.(Actually 23 mpg, most places at 80 mph cruise,so not too bad,but it loves a drink if you do 310 kph...),Rob at DMS in UK modified it slightly with about 100% boost increase,so most places it can show a clean pair of heels,to most things. Ferrari's,not the 458,haven't seen one yet,any SL63,or SLR,Porsche's,Lambo Murcielago,so it's quick.
We are back in OZ,but plan on being at the Monaco Historics,in May,then the Monaco GP,and spend some time in Sitges, with Wayne Gardner,an old mate..."Never stay still, when there's a decent road nearby"..Don't know who said that, but with the Stelvio, and all the other European passes available, good thinking...If you or other VRL members are there, post a message on VRL.Maybe have a beer. Cheers
Thanks for the friends request. I'm a photographer who travels to the Isle of Man TT for photos. You can see some of my work on the Duke Print Galleries. I also do a lot of work for Bryan Fuller of Fuller Hot Rods in the U.S. I've been forwarding all my VRL emails hoping to convince him to join. look at www.DigitalPressImages.com to see my work.
I split my time between Cardiff by the Sea, CA and Holualoa, HI, but my 1958 Ferrari 250 GT stays in CA. The speed limit on the Island of Hawai'i is only 55, and we get plenty of rain - no place for an open Ferrari. I took the top off the car in 1975 (hey, it was only a $1600 car when I bought it in 1974, and I got the short end of the stick). We spent way too much fixing it up, but we have no children to send through college or bail out of jail, so we just played and played until we had something worth keeping. My first Fizzaz was a 275 GTS, and we've also owned a Daytona conversion, and a Mondial QV that was my daily driver for 10 years and on which I put 88,000 miles.
Executing a Spring Tour/Drive I planned for our 928 Porsche Group on Saturday 4/14/12 through Central Ohio . Anxiously awaiting the start of the season @ Mid-Ohio as an SCCA volunteer on the false grid. There's nothing quite as sweet as the smell of unburned hydrocarbons in the morning!!
My mother was Gail Liebaert who raced during the 50's in Southern California. I have much memorabilia from her days that I will soon donate to an appropriate museum. My step father was Dean Mears, who was associated with Riverside Raceway. God rest their souls and bless those who have a need for speed.
So Stephen, I am curious as to the request as friend. Was it my relaxed attitude or my glib humour? I joined a Jaguar club for two weeks, ( the second was if possibly I was having a bad day ) only to find, I didn't fit in. My goal this year is to get my 66 2+2 on the road after 10 years of being an expensive garage organizer. Take care, and enjoy life. PS. let me know if you find someone with part of that 3.5 trillion dollars who would like to adopt me.
Hi, Stephen. Thanks for the invite. Sorry it took so long for me to respond. You'd think at my age & experience that I could navigate a website without a GPS...lol.
I just started a blog... looking for ANYONE that owns - or has owned - a Crusader Formula Vee. I desparately need chassis & coachwork photos so I can restore mine to original glory.
Hi, Stephen. You invited me some time back and I am just now getting back from a long journey to Aussie land. I still have the "need for speed" and have had for as long as I've been driving (60 years). I drive my Ferrari (458) often enough to satisfy that need. I track it once a year in Florida with Brian Redman's Targa 66 group, a nice bunch of people. - gorace.com is his website. My husband also loves to drive his 1968 McLaren M6B, which is the only vintage car in our garage. We live near Motor Sport Ranch, Houston, and drive the track often.
Stephen: Thanks for the invitation. I look forward to conversing with like-minded, vintage racing enthusiast! Here's a picture of the great team of people supporting my efforts to run my Shadow DN-3...
My Isotta-Fraschini V12 project has Napier-Railton, Brutus and other land speed record cars as a raw model and in the end it have something from them all. Still lot to do until it is completed, but now you can more or less the end result. I will keep you posted. Kind regards from Sweden
Thanks for the warm welcome, Stephen. I'm impressed with what you've put together here, and am looking forward to seeing the next iteration take shape.
Thanks for inviting Ginger and I to this wonderful site. I'm going to cruise around it after work here. Keep me posted the next time you and Tom to get Cigars we were talking how we should have ditched work to hang out with you guys for a bit. Have a great day!
Hi Stephen, I am enjoying the website and receiving the email updates. I do have to recommend addition of some more car constructor names in the "join your car group" section. I have Lola F5000 cars and Lola is one constructor that is not included (neither is McLaren for that matter !). Otherwise keep up the great work and looking forward to more email updates about our wonderful hobby. Best regards, Marc Rauchfuss
Many thanks for such a personal welcome in your phone call this evening. Thanks too for all your advice about the League and your site. Proof positive of the truth in the old cliche, if you want to learn about an operation, talk to the guy at the top. Nobody knows the business as well as he does!
I'm looking forward very much indeed to extending my links with the League in the years to come and I hope we'll meet on one side of the Pond or the other and raise a glass together.
It's nice to hear from you, we haven't spoke in some time. Thanks for all you effort in updating the Wiki program, hopefully we can import pages and make the transfer process much less time consuming. I also wanted to let you know that i was able to go to this month's Cars & Coffee meet. As you probably saw, i posted some pictures on the site. I was able to print out some small flyers and talk to some car owners about the site. I was hoping we could get a chance to go together next month. If possible, I think we could set up a table and source a vintage racecar to display.
One other thing, i recently starting using Skype to talk with group members for projects at school. I know how full your schedule is, so i was thinking we could meet through Skype.
So nice meeting you as well! I really love this site and am looking forward to sharing it with friends. I hope you are having a wonderful weekend and I'm looking forward to celebrating on Monday.
Thank you Stephen, and hopefully members of the VRL will find something of interst for them at the Festival, be that as a competitor, exhibitor or a spectator.
Thank you Stephen for your warm welcome ..... I am sure we share a great deal of passion and will do so into the future.....i look forward to many interactions and maybe a chance face to face one day. ..... .Ian
