The Vintage Racing League is the leading online community for people who love racing and cars. Its free to join.
Members connect with people that share a love of specific marques or types of cars (e.g. Vintage, Historic, Classic, Antique,Formula Ford, Can-Am, Trans-Am, GT and/or Historic Formula One cars).
The VRL helps members find difficult to locate parts, restoration resources, race events and car clubs in your area.
You can exchange pictures and race videos and find "same car soulmates".
I look forward to seeing some of your vintage race video's.
FYI - I'm the co-founder of The Vintage Racing League.
I owned and raced a 1975 Crossle Formula Ford. I currently own and race a 1980 March Formula Atlantic and intend to rebuild and race a 1977 Shadow DN8 F1 car.
I race with CVAR in the Southwest.
I live in Dallas.
VRL Factoids:
An estimated 4 million people in the USA own Vintage, Historic, Classic and Antique cars (10 million world-wide).
The USA is home to 79 million Baby Boomers. Every day, 50,000 retire.
There are 27 Vintage Race Clubs in the US that stage an estimated 170 events per year.
Today, approximately 30,000 members in the 27 Clubs race Vintage cars.
We want to get more people into Vintage racing and a primary purpose of this site is dedicated to that goal.
Even if people do not race, they are welcome to attend events and learn more about the compelling nature of motorsports and it's history..
About: WWW.THEVRL.COM
We created a place where owners and lovers of vintage, historic, classic and antique cars could find each other, exchange pictures, videos and information about how to fix, restore, and race cars.
Ask your friends to join the Vintage Racing League @ www.thevrl.com.
Feel free to create new groups, post pictures for us all to share and share the site with your friends.
Welcome to the Vintage Racing League.
Warmest regards - Stephen Page
Chairman & CEO
What car(s) do you own?
1977 Shadow F1 DN8 (in restoration), 1980 March Formula Atlantic, my first car - a 1954 Jensen Interceptor, 1981 Kougar Sports Car, MB ML 500, MB 500S. Previously owned and raced a 1975 Crossle Formula Ford.
What do you like to do (e.g. vintage race with...)?
Race with CVAR in the Southwest.
Attend as many Vintage, Historic and Concours events as possible each year, to include the Monterey Historics, the Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance and the Goodwood Revival.
What would you like to do (e.g. go to race school; get into Vintage Racing)?
Improve my Vintage and Historic racing skills. Share the unique history, passion and excitement of vintage/historic racing via the VRL and expose as many people as possible to the sport.
Thank you for your kind welcome. I am most pleased to join in, and, as time allows it, I will certainly share my (humble) pictures and videos with this enthusiastic community.
We'd appreciate our website being added to the links session of your website. We also invite all members to stop by the Center either when they are racing at the Glen or just vacationing in the beautiful Finger Lakes area of New York state
The Center is open Monday-Saturday from 9AM-5PM all year long and is an invaluable resource for interested or involved in the vintage racing scene. The is no admission charge, but as we receive no federal, state,or local support, donations are always welcome. I also think that 2009 Opening Day at Watkins Glen International will be of interest to the many Mark Donohue fans out there. Details are posted on our website and I would be happy to add VRL to our contact list for all upcoming Center events.

Many thanks - I only hope I can add something useful and interesting in the future. For your members who have an interest in books, not just motoring, please drop in on my company website: www.touchstone-books.net Naturally I would like to recommend my book 'Cobra - The First 40 Years' but we also have a very successful book on aviation to celebrate the 90th anniversary of the RAF called 'Fighting Force' with some amazing photographs from one of the very best air-to-air photographers in the business, Jamie Hunter.
Hi Stephen
Not sure how to do what you said. ie personalize my home page. I would like it, if you can do it have my GT40 and Coupe photos at the top of my Photo page. instead of the mustang pictures.
Hi Stephen:
It's a small damn world isn't it? Whereabouts in England?
I was thinking it'd be helpful To Cris Vandergrif who puts on the historic races here if I signed up and also keep me in touch with what else is going on in Vintage racing. Gill Campbell who runs Laguna Seca (another Brit) is one of my oldest and best friends in this country, certainly my cutest oldest friend by quite a bit.
She and I covered the centennial of the London to Brighton in 1996. I'd still like to run that one day but all the eligible cars are in six figures now, except for the curve dash Olds.
Paul
Hey Stephen,
I have added a Movie Car Fans Group to the groups section. Thanks for checking out my site and the words of encouragement. Let me know when you want that Ferrari 330 P4 for your desk. I have a beauty for you.
Hi Stephen: Best number for me is my cell phone 503-407-8312.cheers
Paul
PS: I remembered I've always wanted a big pre-war Tatra T77. After Citroen DS19s, where else can you go? That's a shameless badge ripoff to try and call that new hatchback a DS. Just think how good a DS could be now with all the modern tech. It would actually work ALL the time, instead of being like Woody Allen's girlfriend quote "She was crazy 27 days out of the month, but Oh those other three days..."
Hi Stephen, im not much of a vintage guy, but i am sorta local to the area. If your having any events at Autobahn Country Club, let me know. I have never been there so i need a bit of information about going.
Is there a way we can adjust the height:width ratio to preserve the correct perspective of photos on our pages? Most are like the Altes Forsthaus two comments below - squeezed. Is that a result of certian files sizes, or types of files?
Also, for those of us with split auto-personalities, is there a way to change the "signature" image from group to group? E.g., my Turner is my general "sig." But, on the Alfa group I would rather have my Alfa as my "sig."
Thank you for your comments we would also like to promote your site on our web site as you can see form my email address we also have our own Web Site Developement company and we have first page ranking for most pages on google.
Look forward to hearing form you.

Hi Stephen
very nice to get your warm welcome, and thank you for all the kind comments on the first batch of photos I uploaded. It's a real pleasure to be part of this international community.
best wishes
Dirk
Thanks for the welcome, Stephen. Nice to be "friends" with another Crossle' alumni. I had a Tiga for a while as well but I'll take the Crossle' anyday. I'll play around with my page someday but thats not my big thing.
You add dreams to daily life, when I don't have time to drive my "oldy". I'll post later some pictures of our latest rally, the Monte Carlo Historique.
Thank you Stephen
I will - I am on the way at the moment and don't have the needed time. But I will be back soon! Have a good eveneing, best wishes, Thomas
Cheers Stephen.
I doubt I'll be much of a contributor, but I'll work out eventually what is what ;-)
I'll have to find a pick to replace the Mazzie first ..
Thanks...lots of work (2 years worth...five months for the initial frame off, then almost a year for the body...and still MORE to do (it's a lotus, you know...:))
I don't have any pix of the B.A.T. autos, but the next time I work at the museum, I'll take along my camera and get some pix of the 3 cars & post them on the website.
Stephen,
Put together a few paragraphs about VRL and I will run it in an AARWBA newsletter (I'm the editor). Tell our readers what VRL is all about, why it exists, who should join, benefits of joining and any future enhancements/additional upgrades that may be in the pipeline. Fair enough? Email to me directly, and if possible, send the VRL logo and/or a photo of you.

Agreed! Amber has done a fine job. We are careful to put videos on our site if they have any music because of copyright issues. Interested in your thoughts on that.
Sorry I missed your call Friday. You can catch me on my cell # today or I'll try to reach you again on Monday.
Hope you are having a great Sunday!

PS: Having fun exploring VRL, very cool site with very cool people!
