Looking for other regional Opel Clubs


If you have already formed a local group in your area or feel there is enough interest in your area and wish to start a regional chapter feel free to contact me to be listed on our site.
We set aside one day each year for our regional clubs to have a local picnic, we would love for you to participate!


Who We Are


The OANA started out in the late 1980s as a regional club serving the Mid-Atlantic region. Then with the advent of the Internet in the early 90s we started changing. Soon we had members from every region of the US and we developed into a national club with a large Internet based membership. As we grew, it didn't take long before we started producing our newsletter in both printed and electronic versions. As our membership continued to grow via the Internet, we reached a point where an overwhelming majority of members were Internet based. Unfortunately, by the time we printed our newsletters, most of the information had already been seen by most of the membership. Based on that, plus the cost of printing, the paper version was discontinued in the middle of 2000. This has resulted in a big bonus to the Opel community as a whole: now we can offer membership in the club for free.
As a club, our biggest mission is to help develop a sense of community among our owners. We do this via our mailing lists and events. We hold two main events each year. Since the early days of the club, we have held a large annual gathering in Carlisle, PA during the Carlisle Import-Kit/Replicar Nationals (traditionally held in the middle of May) and since 1999, the annual "Opels Across America" (Usually Held in September). Opels Across America is a day that is agreed to for all Opel Chapters to hold their own local meet and picnic. Sort of a National gathering, but held in many places all across the nation. That's not all though, we are currently planning to hold a National Meet every year as well to be hosted in different locations by our chapters. Be sure to keep an eye out for it.

If you are looking for a more traditional club with a traditional printed newsletter, we recommend that you join The Opel Motorsport Club, a national club based in Los Angeles, California. They have always been a partner and friend to us. We will always update them with information about events and gatherings that we are planning, so that they can add these things to their newsletter. Information on their club can be found at http://www.opelclub.com. They are a great club to join and hold an annual picnic in August that Opel owners from all over the country go to. I highly recommend joining them.

So that's the OANA, just a bunch of friendly Opel owners all connected via the Internet and sharing a common bond, our Opels.
