Haven't been here in a while but I guess I should announce the 2017 Can Am Mini Challenge race is September 29 - October 1st at Sonoma Raceway in Sonoma, CA, being run in conjunction with the CSRG Races. I hear there are already 30+ classic Minis entered with drivers being brought over from Europe, the UK and entries from many US states and Canada. http://www.canamminichallenge.com/
Hi all!
60 Morris Mini with an R1 conversion here. Owned the car for 44 years. Lots of other British stuff too.

What carbs do you have on Sunny now? Maybe you could use the manifold off Sunny and just change the carbs. The US's are hard to rebuild and they cost a fortune so they are worth plenty. The ones on my MG are working great
thanks Mike!
The intake manifold is different and sits a a different angle..you will have to source the manifold for the Mini or you will have interference issues with the firewall..
Bolt up should be thet same and the ports. You may want to take them down to Justin's and check before he gets it all put back together.
Pat,
You should be able to use the SU's. Most all the early MG Midgets and AH Sprites came with 1 1/4 SU's. The bolt pattern to the cylinder head is the same. Be sure to check the port location and design. Make sure that lines up. You may need to drill and pin the manifold to be sure it mates up and then use the studs and nuts to hold in place.
Eddie,
I wish you were out here in the west coast, you could join us for MINI Thunder III at Thunderhill Raceway Park in WIllows CA. This event is exclusively for MINI/Minis and does have several classic Mini entrants. You should check with your local SCCA regianla office for vintage racing events, also NASA, or BMWCCA. They all are invloved in club racing and can steer you in the right direction.

Hi, I have a Mini Innocenti. 1973. It has a roll bar installed but.....I have no idea how to get it into a race. I have raced circle track, chump car and many auto cross events.
I live in central Florida.
