The company owns and operates Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course and The Mid-Ohio School, and promotes a wide variety of motor racing, driver instruction, corporate, and family entertainment events throughout the year.
2010 Season PreviewThe Grand-Am Rolex Sports Car Series kicks of the season on June 18-20 again as the first green flag of the 49th season of racing at Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course drops on the EMCO GEARS CLASSIC presented by KeyBank. The series' two classes jockey for track position at the same time as the Daytona Prototypes and GT machines compete during the twilight hours on Saturday. The weekend is supported by the KONI Challenge, the Volkswagen Jetta TDI Cup, the Cooper Tires presents The Atlantic Championship, the ARCA Truck Series and the Ford Mustang Challenge.
Datsun/Nissan will lead the numerous classic racing machines that will be on display and on track in Lexington, Ohio on June 25-27 as the Featured Marque for the 25th annual VINTAGE GRAND PRIX OF MID-OHIO. In the first of two throwback weekends at the classic road course, fans will be treated to several group races as well as Formula B and Formula 5000, sanctioned by the Sportscar Vintage Racing Association. Car Clubs make up a big part of the weekend with over 400 vintage vehicles adding to the festivities in 2009.
Mid-Ohio keeps the time machine ticking with the next event of the season, AMA VINTAGE MOTORCYCLE DAYS on July 9-11. The 16th annual Mid-Ohio classic bike weekend will see enthusiasts and riders travel from all across the country to sell, buy and trade gear and parts as part of North America's largest motorcycle swap meet. Fans can watch riders race their historical hogs around the track in over a dozen classes and listen to iconic motorcycle figures in a series of seminars.
Immediately after the vintage bikes and riders head home, the superbikes of AMA Pro Racing bring fans back to the future as they headline the 2010 edition of the HONDA SUPER CYCLE WEEKEND presented by Dunlop Tire. This year, the two-wheeled terrors of American Superbike take over the track on July 16-18 for the Wiseco Superbike 100 doubleheader, with the series' other three classes, Daytona Sportbike, Supersport and Moto-GT filling up the weekend's schedule. Fans can lap the track like the pros as part of Mid-Ohio's 20th annual Dealer Ride.
Ohio's biggest motorsports weekend is also the final spectator event of the Mid-Ohio Summer. The MID-OHIO SPORTS CAR CHALLENGE/ THE HONDA INDYT 200 presented by Westfield Insurance double-header gives fans over 24 hours of track action on August 6-8. For the fourth straight year, the American Le Mans Series and the IZOD IndyCar Series descend upon Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course as each series begins its final stretch of the season. Support series include Firestone Indy Lights, the Patron GT3 Challenge and the GT and Touring car classes of the SCCA SPEED World Challenge.
