Is anyone aware of any good parts sources for Scorpions in the USA? All I've found (anywhere) thus far is The Monte Hospital in the UK. They're great people, but shipping is a killer.
Thanks,

Bob-

Anything in particular you are looking for? The mechanical stuff is pretty readily available from other Fiat parts distributors, such as Vick Autosports, International Autoparts, Bayless, etc.
The Scorpion specific body parts basically aren't avaialable, except as used parts, in the US.
There is a guy or two producing European (Montecarlo) style front and rear bumpers; 037 Rally style bumpers and double-bubble roofs.
Take care-

Hi John,

Thank you for the response. I've heard of International Autoparts, but the others will be added to my list. I'm aware of the Fiat heritage, but am wary of small differences. For example, I replaced some seized rear calipers with ones from a Fiat 124 (they looked the same), only to discover later that the Scorpion calipers had larger pistons. I wish I hadn't turned in those cores! Do you know who it is that is producing the Monecarlo and 037 body components? I've been planning to keep one of my driver Scorpion original, but the project car is open to some semi-serious modification. I've already got a 2-liter HPE motor and a donor car with the EFI. I would love to make it look more exciting.

The brake and suspension parts are all basically X1/9 parts. The engine and transmission are slightly modified versions of the Lancia Beta parts.
A guy named Jason Greenwood has obtained molds from a guy named Rodger Grantham. Jason has a website advertizing Dallara X1/9 body kits (which I also have). I sent Jason an e-mail a month or so ago, and he didn't respond. You can Google "Jason Greenwood Dallara X1/9" and it should come up....

John,

My biggest concern at this point is going to be trim items. I've got one driver (a '77) , one '76 project car that is fairly complete and running, and one parts car with a 2-liter HPE engine. So, most of the mechanicals are covered, but it's the stuff unique to the car that is going to keep me searching. I'm not sure, but I may be able to turn the parts car into a decent track car. A previous owner had taken steps in that direction, but I there are some structural rust issues. The '76 project car is likely to be turned into a Montecarlo clone, so the body kit providers will be very helpful there.

Thanks,

I also happened to think; there is a place called Caribou in California was was having some Scorpion-specific stuff reproduced. They, and the Montehospital, are your best bet for the unique stuff.

Good luck-
John
Hi Bob, Try contacting Tom Zat at ALFA HEAVEN in Aniwa WI. He may have some good leads for you. Take care. Hank
