Own a bit of history - The MARCH F1 transporter

This is definitely a 'unique' transporter. It is the original MARCH International Limited F1, 2, & 3 transporter. Built in England, It is left-hand drive for use on the continent.

The transporter is in the RV lot in El Toro, California. It is currently painted white.

The "bed" in the transporter is 25 feet long by about 8 feet wide and 7 feet high. It is carpeted, paneled and fully insulated (which in its original form it was not fully paneled or insulated). I use to carry a pair of NSU-TT's in it which are each about 12 feet long. I have installed tie-down rings to accommodate these two cars. Now I only have one, the one that I race.

I have installed a vintage generator (Honda), a home window air conditioner, which is ducted to the interior, and modified the rear ramp so that it is raised and lowered by an electric wench and provides full height and width entrance. Everything is self contained.

There have been no other modifications to vehicle or the engine and drive train. The engine is a 6 cylinder Ford Dorset turbo diesel. The transmission is a 5 speed manual. Top speed is 80 Km. The drive train has an electric induction brake on the drive shaft that is operated by a lever on the steering column. It is very effective in slowing the vehicle when on a downhill grade.

It is available to view and drive at your convenience.

Interesting rig> What's the current engine?
Tom... as stated in the original description...There have been no other modifications to vehicle or the engine and drive train. The engine is a 6 cylinder Ford Dorset turbo diesel. I believe it is rated at 150 HP.

I met you at a Vintage race out at willow many years ago and we talked about your car and truck as I was there with a Datsun. I was wondering if you were selling your car as I thought I saw something in the last couple months about it. I see that it has been many years since you posted here as it has for me but I have a very good friend who is very interested in your car as he is importing an NSU in from europe and I told him about yours and he said to try and find you. Please if you get this call me at 760-940-6365 and thank you.
