This Cooper T56 was bought by Terry Southall from Hamstead Sports Cars of East Finchley in 1976, then went to Australia where it was raced further. Terry sold the car to the York Motor Museum and Terry Cowden bought it from them in 1988 at auction. The car then went to Sydney and landed up on auction again in March 1992 and through a series of deals landed up with Gary Glasby in Australia. The current owner bought the car from Mr. Glasby in 1998 and brought it to South Africa.

The car has no chassis plate. It does however have a Cooper Car Club plate and is registered with them. It has a ‘red’ crank which was the FJ crank and the owner acquired it from Bruce Glasby. The engine is 1,100 cc with the correct block, also ex-Glasby. It has the correct Jack Knight 5-speed gearbox. Condition wise it is restored, looks great and is ready to go, but with 0 miles on the motor.
