BRING A TRAILER! They’ve nicknamed this one “The Mountain Vee” because it was rescued from the back lot of a shop up in picturesque up in Pine Grove, California (just days before the Winter snows set in) and brought south to the LA area to be preserved as a Vintage Vee race car. This car last raced in SCCA sports car events in the San Francisco Region, and it is now a good candidate for most vintage club events.

… It ‘s offered here as a Vintage Vee “Kit” in the long-held and original tradition of Formula Vee: As a complete chassis with bodywork, needing only the proper VW components (front beam, engine, transaxle, springs, shocks, and brakes) to make it whole and (vintage) race-worthy.

As mentioned above the cockpit was, at one time “broadened” to accommodate someone who needed more shoulder room. The car also has fairly unusual rear-trailing control arms for the back axel, and (of all things) it features an early example of “zero-roll” rear suspension.

Offered at the very reasonable price) of only $850 $750! (cash and carry). There are a number of spares, including 6 wheels (4 mounted with “experienced” American Racer tires), a (stock) front axel beam, misc. brake drums, spindles, etc.

Definitely NOT a turn-key operation, but, then again, NOT a stupid-crazy price for a real, vintage-worthy, FV race car either …

This was a true feel-good rescue, resulting in a good (no GREAT!) opportunity for someone (with good mechanical talent, but badly limited budget) to own a cool little sweat-equity Vintage Formula Vee open wheel racing car on the cheap.
