Year: 1968
Make: Porsche
Model: 911 Race car
In 1968 Milestone Racing and Tony Adamowicz won the under 2 liter Trans-Am championship, the first Trans-Am championship for the Porsche marque. Unfortunatley the original car is believed lost forever.
This fantastic tribute car was built to the EXACT standards of the original 1968 championship winning car. Tony Adamowicz, Mac Tilton and Don Breslauer (the original builders and drivers of the '68 car) were consulted on the build and the drawings from Mac Tilton used. An enormous effort of both time and money has been invested to make this car as authentic to the original as possible. Tony has driven the car at Daytona Rennsport and in Portland. The car was also invited to attend the Laguna Seca historics this year and proved very competitive. This also proved the car important...RARELY is a tribute car ever invited to participate at Monterey...VERY RARELY!
The build sheet is simply too long for this space. The car is powered by a correct 2.0 liter motor and with the Solex carburators that ran in 1968...the only car to use them.
This car is fantastic! It is an absolute turn key car. It has just been on display at the Petersen Museum is Los Angeles California for the last month as part of the Trans-Am tribute display..along with Mark Donohue's Camaro,Horst Kweck's Alfa Romeo and a host of other fine period Trans-Am racers.
This is a must see car. Tony Adamowicz resides close to our shop and may be available for consult.
Make no mistake...this is NOT a good street car with nice paint....this is a VERY serious race car.
Interesting trades could be considered....more information is available at www.occarenthusiast.com
