In 1967 Gus Hutchison drove this Lotus 41C to 4 wins of 5 races in SCCA's Grand Prix Championship which was the forerunner to the Continental Championship established the next year. Gus dominated the pro series that year over drivers such as Lou Sell and Mike Hiss and took the overall championship against F1 cars with larger 3 liter racing engines. This beautiful and historic car is now available. Powered by the proper Lotus Twin Cam, it uses a Hewland FT-200 gearbox and has many items which make it a truly exceptional vintage Formula car. The engine was built by Jay Ivey and the gearbox was freshened, both in 2001. Since then the car has been run only twice. Upholstered seat and headrest, Koni double adjustable shocks, AN plumbing, the proper Smiths instruments, nickel-plated TIG-welded 4130 suspension, stainless steel mirror mounts. This car has been professionally maintained and always received nothing but the best. This Louts will be in good company with the best racing cars in the world at the Monterey Historics, the Walter Mitty or the Goodwood Revival. It comes with many photos from its early years, complete documentation and even authentication from Gus Hutchison himself. It is currently on display at the NTX Auto Museum in Dallas, Texas. Hi Robert,
The Lotus is beautiful. If it does not find a new home by June, would you consider offering it for sale at auction? I'm with RM Auctions Inc. and it would be a perfect fit for our Sports & Classics of Monterey event in mid-August. Feel free to contact me if you want to discuss this idea further with me.
Best,

Thanks David. We have had some pretty interesting offers on the car but have not yet seen the right one. If we still have it in June, the RM auction may be an option. Thanks for contacting me about it.
