The next time you're at the races, stop by the Historic Grand Prix paddock and check us out. Everybody does, because this may be your best chance to see a Formula One car up close.

If you pick your moment, you may even find yourself talking to one of the drivers about the history of his car, or the technical specifications, or what it's like to drive a Formula One machine at speed. After all, we're the world's fastest museum.

Check out the historical plaques that illuminate the history of each car. Snap a few photos to prove to the folks back home that you got "THIS CLOSE" to an F1 machine. Call someone from your past on your cell phone and tell them where you are.

About the time you've seen enough of the cars up close and parked, you'll hear a roar as the first engine starts. Then the next. Then another and another, until you can't hear the roar of the crowd.

As they start for the track, head back to your seat in the bleachers or your spot on the hill or your post at the fence.
