About Me:
The AMERICAN AUTOMOBILE History---
--------------GOLDEN YEARS!!!--------------
---------TIMELINE 1899 - 1970---------
--Brought to You by ROMANO-ARCHIVES--

The hugest Italian private digital archive about the American Automobile History, more than 100,000 images and over 20,000 multimedial files (videos, digitalized film footage, audio recordings, QTVRs and PDF documents) regarding the 1899-1970 TIMELINE, is now available for researchers, historians, teachers, students and enthusiasts, in two separated Collections.
One of the purposes of our effort is to offer a new approach to the contemporary U.S. History (from an automobile-centric point of view...) to the international public.

The Project embeds various cultural specifications.
The researcher will find, besides images and videos regarding almost every model produced during every single year by all the American Automobile Makes (even the smaller ones...), a complete Collection of images regarding the Automobile in the Advertising. It will be possible to watch and print this precious and complete iconography: thousands of Ads from original vintage magazines, automobile related brochures, manuals, posters, most of them acquired in high resolution.
After many years of research we can also offer an impressive number of vintage Screen and TV commercials, like no other private archive in Europe.
But, most of all, we offer a simultaneous trip with the small everyday stories of the Americans at the wheel, and with the big historical events that changed the States (and the World) during the first 70 years of the last Century, with thousands of epoca images and movies related to every single historical moment. From the Automobile getting into the landscape for the first time to the early 'no rules' races on the beaches near Daytona; from the introduction of the Ford Model T to the 1917 involvement in WW l; from Prohibitionism to the Wall Street Crisis; and so on, reviving the New Deal, the 1939 Futurama, the industrial conversion of WW II and the post-war reconversion, the early 50ies' cars in the b-movies with the flying soucers, the Rock and Roll era, the futuristic concept cars, Korea, Vietnam, the Psychedelic 60ies...

For us at ROMANO-ARCHIVES, in the end, the Project has achieved its goal: giving to the researcher a way to use the Automobile like a key-code, in order to focalize the Spirit of America during the XXth Century.
What do you like to do (e.g. vintage race with...)?
ROMANO-ARCHIVES has provided material for: Italian and International Broadcasters, Independent Production Companies, Business and Corporate Clients, Multimedia Markets, Museums and Expositions.
Since 2007 three of our videos are on permanent exhibit in New York City at The National Sports Museum. In 2009 ROMANO-ARCHIVES has provided a part of the Dada and Futurist films that were screened during the exhibition PRIMA DURANTE DOPO IL CINEMA FUTURISTA (BEFORE DURING AFTER THE FUTURIST CINEMA), performed from 15 to 23 October 2009 at La Galleria L'Agostiniana in Rome, Italy in the event "Risonanze del Festival Internazionale del Film di Roma" ("Resonances of the Rome International Film Festival"). In March, 2011 ROMANO-ARCHIVES signed the first contract as footage provider for the Historic Channel of the Italian State Television RAI TV - RAI 3 La Grande Storia.
Unlike other archives that simply act as footage resellers, ROMANO-ARCHIVES maintains an incomparable library of mostly unpublished historical footage offered at highly competitive rates. We also offer major discounts for clients with significant or ongoing footage needs.
We know our material really well so can save you time by pre-selecting or suggesting the right sort of footage for your show or project. We license our material on a non-exclusive basis and our charges are based on the license parameters required.
WE ARE JUST WAITING FOR YOUR INQUIRIES!

All the clips and complete films are also available for non-profit private use or school/university projects.
