I love the Pontiacs of the '50's through early '70's! I once owned a '74 Grand Am equipped with the 400/4-speed. I think any car made before 1980 has potential, and am always looking for another project vehicle.
What car(s) do you own?
I have another '74 Grand Am, but it's basically just a "parts donor" vehicle, as it's rusted too badly to restore. 400, automatic trans. I hope to find a solid '73-'77 Pontiac "A-body" car so I can "resurrect" the Grand Am that I had way-back-when. I also own a restored '76 Triumph Spitfire, a restored/custom '66 Chevy C-10 stepside pickup, a 100% original and perfect '97 30th anniversary Camaro convertible, and more old motorcycles than I can list here.
What do you like to do (e.g. vintage race with...)?
I restore antique and classic cars. I can't see the reasoning behind racing or modifying a rare vehicle. Why risk damaging, or worse - destroying - a car that is getting harder and harder to find. There are so few left, and they need to be preserved. Racing is quite hard on a car, and even though replacement parts are becoming easier to find, when a part is replaced, it's no longer original.
